Team TEN-acious broke the world record last year for driving the oldest classic car - a 1935 Austin 10 - in the Africa Rally.
The Africa Rally is an annual charity vehicle rally running between South Africa, Malawai, Tanzania and eSwatini.
Not only did the they complete the 5000km rally across Africa, the team was the grand winner of The Challenger Route, passing epic scenery including Victoria Falls and Mount Kilimanjaro.
Their Austin 10, named ‘BYF’, made history by becoming the oldest car ever to complete the rally.
The support team at Bush Mechanics fitted an OM type SU carburetter onto BYF, and recently told us that both the SU carb and SU fuel pump “never missed a beat” and carried the classic car victoriously through the whole 5000km.
The Bush Mechanics family raised over £2,000 for the Beatson Cancer Charity, and Team TENacious raised £4,700 for three amazing charities: Cancer Research UK, Macmillan Cancer Support, and a small, but effective, family run Scottish-founded charity; Kenyawi Kids.
The team at The SU Carburetter Company in Salisbury were absolutely delighted that our SU carb and fuel pump helped the teams cross the finish line and raise thousands of pounds for four incredibly deserving charities. A huge well done to all involved!
