After years of setbacks, disappointments, and relentless dedication, the team of passionate riders and engineers over at AAA Racing have finally made history at Australian Speed Week.
Now coining the phrase ‘The Fastest Small Bikes on the Planet’, the team achieved what many thought was an impossible feat: setting the fastest speed ever recorded for a 50cc motorcycle.
In a thrilling display of speed and precision, the team shattered the current world record, racing their 50cc motorcycle at an impressive 105.306 mph. They didn’t stop there, as a second pass confirmed the achievement with a speed of 105.106 mph, ultimately resulting in a new official record of 105.206 mph. This record-breaking performance has earned a place in the history books, marking a major milestone in the world of motorsports.

The path to this extraordinary achievement was not an easy one. The team’s journey spanned over four years, across two continents, with countless setbacks, including being rained out during U.S. events in 2022 and 2023, and a similarly frustrating experience in Australia in 2024. Despite these challenges, they never lost sight of their goal: to break the 50cc motorcycle speed record.
“It has been an emotional journey,” said J-P Afflick, reflecting on the dedication and hard work that went into this moment. “Four years of relentless pursuit, thousands of miles travelled, and countless hours away from family and friends. But through it all, we never gave up. There were many tears and even more smiles when we finally claimed the record.”

As they bask in the glory of their historic accomplishment, the team is already looking forward to the future. With their sights set on new challenges, they’re determined to continue pushing the limits of what’s possible. “The journey doesn’t end here,” he added. “We’re excited for what’s next, and we can’t wait to keep pushing the boundaries. This is just the beginning.”
For now, the team is savouring their moment in the spotlight, knowing they’ve made their mark in the world of motorsports and achieved a record that will be remembered for years to come.
